Molokai, Hawaii
Molokai’s massive sea cliffs rise to over three thousand feet above sea level, making them among the highest in the world. For decades, geologists thought these cliffs were created through wind and water erosion. However, now it is believed the cliffs formed approximately 1 to 1.5 million years ago after the northern 1/3 of Molokai island collapsed into the sea.
Second in a series of images featuring the Molokai Sea Cliffs.
