The Pacific Golden Plover is a migratory shorebird that breeds during Alaska and Siberia summers. During non breeding season the plover migrates widely across the Pacific including the Hawaiian Islands regularly covering over 2,000 miles in a single nonstop flight. I photographed this Pacific Golden Plover on the western shores of Maui.
